Teaching Philosophy

I believe that every child can successfully learn to play the piano when given the right environment, proper guidance, warm encouragement and regular practice. I want my students to be healthy and happy, knowing they are in a safe and secure setting that fosters a sense of connectedness. I recognize and respect the individuality of each student, and while I don’t place unrealistic expectations on them, I do expect students to work to the best of their ability and maintain regular practice. I work with every student to plan a unique curriculum that ensures steady successful progress. I am able to set appropriate goals for students that are interested in high level competitions and music as a career, those that are primarily interested in exposure, and everything in between.
